Millington Davina 28,000gns
Carlisle's Red Ladies day 18th December 2009,

The day’s second top priced animal was Millington Davina, a first prize winner, from Millington Grange Estate, Millington, York who sold for 28,000gns to the newly establishing Sportsmans pedigree herd of Boden & Davies Ltd, Mellor Hall Farm, Mellor, Nr. Stockport, Cheshire. Millington Davina, a February 2008 born heifer, arrived at Carlisle with a combination of depth of pedigree, performance figures and an impressive 2009 show record. An embryo calf, Millington Davina is by the French sire Mas Du Clo and is out of Brockhurst Option whose dam is the noted Ronick McAinsi. In 2009 Davina, who has a Beef Value of LM+39, picked up a host of show titles with the most notable being when she was crowned Supreme Limousin Champion at the final Royal Show. At the same event she won the Junior Interbreed Championship and the Reserve Supreme Overall Interbreed title. In 2008, the Millington Herd secured the top price at the corresponding sale when selling Millington Choice, a full sister of Millington Davina, for 10,000gns. Owners John & Pauline Weatherill only decided after much consideration to enter Millington Davina just before the close of entries to the sale. A full sister is retained amongst the pedigree herd of 40 females and a full brother is due to be offered at the February Spring Bull Sale in 2010. The herd’s top sale price to date was an additional ‘present’ for Mrs Weatherill who happened to be celebrating her birthday on sale day!
